Apple Releases New Ipods

Posted in Apple,Microsoft,Misc by Kristian Kristensen on the September 6th, 2007

I’m just watching the keynote from last night where Steve Jobs introduced the new iPod lineup and the new iTunes. It is so sweet. The new iPods are incredibly cool. I’m just a bit sad, coz I just got a 30gig black iPod of yesterdays kind.

Anyway, I just read this post on Bink.nu – Apple Beats Microsoft to WiFi Music Store. So basically the iPod beat the Zune. Apple is launching an iTunes WiFi Store that you can use from the new iPod Touch. So Apple includes WiFi after Microsoft did to the Zune, but still comes out ahead. Then take this post from CoolSmartphone – I’ll be honest – the iPhone really worries me. It’s basically the same take only this time between Windows Mobile and the iPhone.

I read some where (forgot where) that the thing about Apple is that they never stop improving their products. The push the limits, ships something, an then immediately starts pushing again. Just look at the release cycles of iPods. Eventhough parts of previous iPod lineup are good enough, it doesn’t matter. They keep pushing, pushing, pushing.

Either way, for a gear/gadget enthusiast the future looks bright :-)

[...] Gauntlet, Picks it Up, Smacks Zune in the Face. It’s basically the same worry I expressed in yesterdays post on the new iPod lineup. I’m very interested in seeing what’ll come out of the Zune camp. I hope it’ll be [...]
