Made a new section
I’ve made a new section about my server, the IBM PC330 server.
I’ll try to put up what I find interesting when playing with it.
The server is going to run on my ADSL line as a real web server, and therefore I’m currently looking at an UPS from APC – it’s called an Smart-UPS-700, and it should be able to keep my server online even during power failures.
To communicate between the server and the UPS there’s an Open Source program called apcupsd which can control the communication and make sure the server shutdowns gracefully when the UPS is out of power. Way cool!

Getting an ADSL line
I’m getting an ADSL line tomorrow. Man I’m looking forward to it! Then I’ll get rid of GVDNet, a really sucky ISP.
At the same time I’ll put my server online (se below for more info). And that’s gonna be fun

Been to Linux Forum
Linux Forum was actually a bit disappointing. It was a lot better last year where I was there with Gimpster and Tais.
Right now I pretty sure I won’t be going next year.
The thing that sucked the most was that the speakers wasn’t very technical, they were very general and didn’t cover anything you couldn’t read on a web page in 10 minuttes.
A good thing though… I got a T-shirt and an IBM-Linux-Penguin-Pin ®
