MP3 server – update
27th April 2001 18.00 -
The sucker is working! After a bit of mingling around I got the sound card installed. Yesterday I installed a temporary 4 gig harddisk, but the plan is to upgrade that to an IBM 45 gig harddrive.
Machine info:
- Pentium 133 MHz
- 32 Mb RAM
- 5 gigs of space
- Soundblaster card
Not much, but it’ll do. I’m about to install Debian Potato rev. 3 on it. After that I’ll set up the mp3 server software.
MP3 server
I’ve been planning to set up an mp3 server for a while now and I’ll soon do it.
It’s going to work like a jukebox connected to my stereo. In this way I’ll have all of my mp3-music at hand, instead of having it on 15 cds.
More info as I start setting it up.

Doing homework
Well, as the title suggests I spend the day making reports for my physics class… not exactly exciting.
Rene (a classmate and friend of mine) came with his box, and we started typin’. Around 2PM we decided that ‘Hey, better get somethin’ to eat!’, and drove of to Burger King. They’ve just gotten a Mega size menu, with 0.8 L of cola, and we had to try that More writing, and then he took off at about 7 PM.
Right now I’m about to read a little danish for tomorrows class, and I’m probably (I hate spelling that word) going to watch a little tube before I’m off to bed.
Haven’t spend much time codin’ this weekend, expect for Saturday were I spend a couple of hours on the project for the University. It’s getting along.

Watchin’ movies…
On Sunday I saw ‘Finding Forrester’ which is kind of ‘Good Will Hunting 2′, with the exception that it’s not as good as ‘Good Will…’. Really sad, since the movies stars Sean Connery who’s an awesome actor, and since the story had potential.
On Tuesday I saw ‘U 571′ on VCR. Basic plot: 2WW, US needs the Enigma, and gets it. Funny little picture, not the greatest but okay for a Tuesday night.
Yesterday I saw ‘Rules of Engagement’. A great film about a US marine who’s about to become scape goat because of his actions in Yemen.
It’s amazing how many pictures are made each year. Many of them never comes to the theaters here in Denmark, some is released on VCR and others never reach the country. Hollywood is a big industry… big bucks.
Being busy
Man! I’m so busy! I need to make 6 physic reports over the next 1½ weeks. That sucks bigtime. Mainly because it results in me not being able to code, and do stuff I really like.
I mean… when you go to the gymnasium in Denmark you have classes like religion, art and classical civilization, not amazingly exciting topics, but they take time.
Luckily I’m soon done with it and will get summer vacation.
On the coding business I’m thinking of a new project. It’s still on the drawing board (in my mind), but when I get the time I’ll start codin’. And keep you posted
